Salt-glazed pottery resistant to acidic corrosion
The Perth Mint
Hydrochloric and nitric acid were used in the refinement of gold and were stored in salt-glazed pottery vats which are highly resistant to acidic corrosion. This 30 gallon vat was manufactured around 1891-1902 by Doulton & Co. Ltd which later became known as Royal Doulton.
